Urbanization and rapid economic development lead to a sharp increase on the generation of municipal waste.The effective treatment of municipal waste and its resource recovery are of great significance to the realization of a healthy, fast and suitable urban living environment, the reduction of environmental pollution and the construction of a resource recyclable society.
Based on the current scarcity of English teaching materials for municipal waste treatment and resource recovery, this textbook is designed for setting up English teaching course of municipal waste treatment, in order to increase students’ English learning atmosphere.It emphasizes that students fully understand the English teaching content of municipal waste treatment technology, and meanwhile promotes students’ strong interest in English teaching course.
With a gradual structure, the textbook follows the cognitive rules of students.It focuses on the classification, management, resourcebased treatment technology of municipal waste and design of a life cycle assessment for estimating effect of municipal waste on environment and human health.The textbook introduces several advanced waste management methods and treatment technologies, which provide reference and guidance for the understanding and mastering of comprehensive treatment and disposal of municipal waste and its efficient management.

杜海霞,南京工业大学城市建设学院,副教授。主要从事利用微生物燃料电池新技术处理厨房固体废弃物、剩余活性污泥及含高浓度含氨废水;剩余活性污泥的好氧与厌氧消化;臭氧氧化-微生物燃料电池技术处理厨房固体废弃物;臭氧氧化-好氧/厌氧消化技术处理剩余活性污泥;砂滤池内生物膜的形成与变化的分析;环境微生物的构造解析;混凝-臭氧氧化-膜处理技术的给水处理等研究。发包SCI 7篇。应邀担任 “Applied Energy”、“Environmental Science and Pollution Research”、“Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology” 等国际SCI学术期刊审稿人。
